Live Online Beginner Soap Making Class - The Soap Coach

Live Online Beginner Soap Making Class

Want to learn to make soap?

Can't make it to a workshop?

Don't learn well from written guides alone and you like to ask questions too?

No problem. I have you covered.

Learn to make natural, cold process soap with me on a live Zoom 90 minute online class.

How does it work?

Think of this as a Jamie Oliver style tutorial, it is not a class where you will make soap along side me at home. From my years of teaching, I know that is not a safe or viable option plus I cannot check you are doing everything correctly in an online group class.

Instead we will be diving into the following.

  • An overview of what soap is, how it is made and the chemistry you need to know to be safe when you are making it
  • An introduction to the equipment you will need (it is manageable and much of it you will find in your kitchen)
  • A look at the different butters and oils we can use and how they impact on your finished soap
  • Using things you can find in your kitchen to colour your soap
  • An introduction to using essential oils (and blending)
  • A step by step demonstration of how to make cold processed soap from start to finish.
  • Plenty of opportunity for questions along the way.

This is a group class carried out on Zoom and you will receive a link to the recording afterwards to replay as often as you would like.

You will also receive a copy of my Soap Making Made Easy ebook which sells at £13.99 This will be sent to you a couple of days before the class as I know some of you like to be prepared  :)

What you will need to take part.

A good wifi or data connection. This is an online course and you will get the most benefit if you have a clear and unbroken connection.

Ideally a computer, laptop or tablet. Whilst you can access the class on a mobile phone the visual aspect will not be so clear for you.

Pen and paper - you will want to take notes as there is a lot of information to cover.

FAQ

What if I do not want to be on camera? No problem at all - there is no requirement to have your camera switched on. Lurkers welcome 😉

Can I ask a question without speaking? Yes there is a written chat box which I will check on from time to time and answer questions, and rest assured NO question is too small.

Where will the video replay be hosted - I don't have much storage on my device? No problem at all - it will be an unlisted video on You Tube which means the general public will not have access and you will have a link to access it at any time.

Can I buy the ingredients in advance and make it with you as you go? I don't recommend this, everyone works at different speeds and if you are trying to make your very first batch at home you will miss things that I am saying some of which could be very important to nailing a successful first batch.

When do I get the Zoom link? I will send it out a couple of days prior to the class by email.

How many people will be on the call? Don't worry - I am not one of those people who has hundreds of people on Zoom at one time. I want everyone to have the opportunity to ask questions. I do not expect more than 15, in the event it is an extremely popular class I will add additional dates on.

I am a complete technophobe! Help! Don’t worry, I would recommend clicking on the Zoom link that I will send you a day or two before hand to check that you have Zoom installed correctly and you can see how it works. Don’t worry, it won’t alert me or start the meeting - it will put you in a virtual waiting room as the meeting is not live and you can disconnect at any time.
